August 12, 2015

With the rise in the number of mobile users worldwide, it has become more common than ever for mobile users to watch videos on their device. According to Joanne Chien, industry analyst with (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute), a Taipei-based ICT research institute, the expansion of 4G network coverage in Taiwan has transformed the traditional TV viewing experience to tablets and mobile devices.

"Based on the results of a survey conducted in the first half of 2015, we found that 72.9% of online users watch videos on mobile devices at least once a week," says Chien. "Most popular video apps are Youtube (80%), followed by Facebook (34.8%), mobile browser (22.7%), PP Stream (14.3%), Tudou (11.2%), and others (<10%)."
